Doctoral Candidates Research Grants (DCR) are designed to support excellent doctoral candidates at the career stage at which they are starting their own independent research team or programme. Applicants must demonstrate the promising nature, ambition and feasibility of their scientific proposal.

DCR Grants may be awarded up to a maximum of three proposals for a total amount of EUR 50.000 for a period of 24 months.

The SAS Award 2016 is granted yearly to three PhD students demonstrating outstanding research performance. The Award consists of a benefit of 1.500 € . The competition is open to doctoral students enrolled in the second or third year of study. Previous winners of the SAS Award are not eligible to apply.
The selection process will be based on the evaluation of the candidates’ scientific profile (30%), participation in the SAS activities (10%) and of a research product obtained during the doctoral programme (60%).
